Subject: VISION FOR PHARMACY SERVICE

The pharmacy department intends to expand its service in patient focused care by training and educating present staff members to perform clinical duties. This will allow for an increase in direct patient contact and increase the pharmacy role on the patient care units. Technological advances will be implemented wherever possible to allow the department to realign and reassign responsibilities in pursuit of this goal of patient focused care. The department will improve the provision of service by establishing priorities for improving service within the pharmacy department and by participation in interdepartmental multi-disciplinary teams seeking to plan a systematic approach to improving performance.
