Subject: PHARMACY STAFFING
A. POLICY
The staffing requirements for
the Department of Pharmacy will be determined by the Director and the
appropriate supervisory staff. The staffing requirements will be based on the
minimum requirements to fulfill both the clinical and distributive functions of
the Department of Pharmacy. The minimum staff requirements will be reviewed at
least on a yearly basis to determine if staffing is appropriate to meet the
mission of the department.
B. Minimum Pharmacist
& Technician Staffing Requirements
1. Inpatient Pharmacy
Central Pharmacy, Monday-Friday 7A-5:30P --- 5 Pharmacists; 5 Technicians
OR Pharmacy, Monday-Friday (opens at 6A) --- 1 Pharmacist
Central Pharmacy, Monday-Friday 12:30P-11P --- 5 Pharmacists (between 1P and 5P - minimum of 7); 4 Technicians
Central Pharmacy, Monday-Friday 8P-7A --- 2 Pharmacists; 2 Technicians
Central Pharmacy, Weekends 7A-5:30P --- 5 Pharmacists; 4 Technicians
Central Pharmacy, Weekends 12:30P-11P --- 3 Pharmacists; 2 Technicians
Central Pharmacy, Weekends
8P-7A --- 2 Pharmacists; 2
Technicians
2. OPC Pharmacy
ACC Pharmacy, Monday-Friday 8A-6:30P --- 6 Pharmacists; 6 technicians; 6 Pharmacy Students (Part-time)
ACRC Pharmacy, Monday-Friday 7A-7P --- 3 pharmacists (overlap between 10A-5:30P); 1 Technician
ACRC/ACC Pharmacy, Weekends 7A-7P
--- 1 pharmacist + 1 pharmacist 7A-noon on Saturday; 1 Pharmacy Student
