Eddy Arnold, P.D.
Clinical Pharmacist on the bone marrow transplant team. Mr. Arnold received his
B.S. from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy
and has been a staff pharmacist at the University Hospital since 1982.

Niki Carver, Pharm.D.
Assistant Director for Medication Safety, whose duties include education and
training for pharmacy staff, and drug use evaluation among other quality
assurance activities. She also serves as Secretary for the P&T Committee. Dr.
Duncan received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Arkansas for
Medical Sciences (UAMS). She completed a Pharmacy Practice residency and
Pharmacy Practice Management Specialty residency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with
Aurora Health Care. Niki joined our staff in September 2005.
Donna Baxter, Pharm.D.
Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Oncology. Dr. Baxter received her Pharm.D.
from the UAMS College of Pharmacy. She completed a Pharmacy Practice residency
and a Specialty Residency in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Baxter joined the Department of Pharmacy in 1996.

Amanda Ferstl, Pharm.D.
Dr. Ferstl is a Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Care. Dr. Ferstl received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the UAMS College of Pharmacy. She also completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at UAMS. She is a Certified Anticoagulation Care Provider. Dr. Ferstl joined the Department of Pharmacy in 2005.
Howell Foster, Pharm.D., DABAT
Director of the Arkansas Poison Control Center and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Foster received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UAMS and has
worked as an instructor at the College of Pharmacy since 1993.
Larry Franklin, Pharm.D.
Is the Pharmacy Specialist for the adult medicine patient care units at the
University Hospital. Dr. Franklin received his B.S. Degree in Pharmacy in 1965,
and his Pharm.D. from Arkansas University in 1994. Larry has worked as both a
staff and floor pharmacist for the Department of Pharmacy prior to his current
position as a pharmacy specialist. Dr. Franklin is also certified in asthma
disease state management.

Amy M Franks, Pharm.D
Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Franks is an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and a Clinical Pharmacist in Cardiology.
Dr. Franks received her Pharm.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences. She completed a Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy Fellowship at the UAMS
College of Pharmacy, and joined the faculty at the College of Pharmacy in July
2003.
John David Gannaway, Pharm.D.
Director of the Drug Information Center and Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Gannaway received his B.S. and Pharm.D. from UAMS and has worked
at the College of Pharmacy since 1989.
Paul O. Gubbins, Pharm.D.
Professor & Chair Department
of Pharmacy Practice in the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Gubbins received his Pharm.D. from the University of
Illinois at Chicago in 1988. He completed a hospital residency at the University of
Kentucky in Lexington in 1990 and an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of
Illinois at Chicago in 1992. Dr. Gubbins joined the faculty at the College of Pharmacy
in 1992.

Seth David Heldenbrand, Pharm.D.
Dr. Heldenbrand is a 1997 graduate of University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy who completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2003 at the UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. Dr. Heldenbrand is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice with the UAMS College of Pharmacy and serves as the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Solid Organ Transplant.
Lisa Hutchison, Pharm.D., M.S.
Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and a Clinical Practitioner with
Reynolds Center on Aging. Dr. Hutchison received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree
from the University of Tennessee, College of Pharmacy. In 1984 she completed a
Postdoctoral Pharmacy Practice Residency at the VA Medical Medical Center in
Memphis, Tennessee. She also received a Master of Public Health from the
University of South Florida. Dr. Hutchison joined the staff at the College of
Pharmacy in July 2000.
Jill Johnson, Pharm.D.
Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and a Clinical Pharmacist in Internal
Medicine. Dr. Johnson received her Pharm.D. from the University of Arkansas for
Medical Sciences. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at the VA Medical
Center in Little Rock. She joined the faculty at the College of Pharmacy in
1994.

Kendrea Jones, Pharm.D., BCPS
Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Jones is the Clinical Pharmacist for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Burn Center. Jones received her Pharm.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. In 2006, she completed a Pharmacy Practice residency at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis and a Specialty Residency in Critical Care at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy & VA North Texas Healthcare System in 2007 in Dallas. She joined the faculty at the College of Pharmacy in 2007.

Karen E. King, Pharm.D.
Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and a Clinical Pharmacist for
surgery, critical care and nutritional support. Dr. King received her B.S. from
UAMS and completed the residency program at the University Hospital. She then
received her Pharm.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina at
Charleston and completed a Post-doctoral Surgery Residency at that institution.
Dr. King joined the staff at the University Hospital in 1991.
Sonda Lloyd, Pharm.D.
Is a Pharmacy Specialist on the Neonatal Unit. Dr. Lloyd received her B.S.
from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy
in 1989 and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1998. Dr. Lloyd has been on staff
at the University Hospital in various capacities since 1991.
Mike Malone, Pharm.D
Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Malone is one of the Clinical
Specialists for Bone Marrow Transplant. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky. He completed a Pharmacy Practice and Oncology Specialty Residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Holly Maples, Pharm.D
Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pediatrics at the UAMS Medical Center. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University, College of Pharmacy in May of 2000. Dr.
Maples completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency 2001 at Spectrum Health and DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From 2001 to 2003 she completed Pediatric Pharmacology Fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Maples jointed the College of Pharmacy in 2003.
Kathryn Neill, Pharm.D
Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Neill is the Clinical
Pharmacist for the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Neill received her
Pharm.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed
a fellowship at the UAMS College of Pharmacy. She joined the faculty at the
College of Pharmacy in 2002.

Catherine O'Brien, Pharm.D.
Dr. O’Brien is an
Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at UAMS College of Pharmacy and a
Clinical Pharmacist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She received her
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UAMS and completed a Pharmacy Practice
Residency at UAMS Medical Center. She completed a Multidisciplinary Clinical
Pharmacology Fellowship at UAMS College of Pharmacy and joined the faculty
in July 2008.

Michael D. Parr, Pharm.D.
Director of the Pharmacy Services Department, and an Associate Professor in
the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Parr received his B.S. in Biology
from the University of Nebraska in Omaha and his Pharm.D. from the
University of Nebraska Medical Campus. He also completed a Post-doctoral
Residency at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Parr came to the University
Hospital in 1990.
Melanie Pilcher, Pharm.D.
Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and the Pharmacy
Specialist with the geriatric group. Dr. Pilcher received her Doctor of
Pharmacy degree from the University of Pacific. She completed a Postdoctoral
General Residency in Hospital Pharmacy at St. John’s Hospital in
Springfield, Illinois and, a Specialty Residency in Geriatric at UAMS
College of Pharmacy. Dr. Pilcher joined the Department of Pharmacy in 1992.

Jennifer A. Roberts, P.D.
Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and a Clinical Pharmacist
for Inpatient Bone Marrow Transplantation Units. Ms. Roberts received her
B.S. from UAMS and completed the residency program at the M.D. Anderson
Cancer Center. She has worked as a clinical practitioner and in management
positions at both M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Hermann Hospital. Ms.
Roberts joined the staff at the University Hospital in 1999.
Ray W. Thannisch, P.D.
Assistant Director of Operation. Mr. Thannisch received his B.S. in Pharmacy
from UAMS and has been working for the University Hospital since 1978.
Randall Towell, P.D.
Assistant Director for outpatient pharmacy services and an Instructor of
Pharmacy Practice at the College of Pharmacy. Mr. Towell received his B.S.
from UAMS and has been working for the University Hospital since 1980.
