What is Pharmacy Camp?

The UAMS College of Pharmacy Summer Camp Program is designed for high school rising seniors and recently graduated high school students entering college interested in learning more about the challenging career pathway opportunities in the profession of pharmacy. This unique camp incorporates active participation in a broad scope of learning experiences including “hands-on” training in pharmacy practice skills, lectures by College of Pharmacy faculty and local Arkansas pharmacist practitioners, and field trips to actual pharmacy practice locations.  The camp program reviews pharmacy education opportunities and the pharmacy curriculum at UAMS as well as recommended high school preparatory and collegiate Pre-Pharmacy course work.

Pharmacy Summer Camp Tuition & Fees: 

Camp tuition is $400.00 and includes housing, all meals, camp instruction materials, laboratory exercise supplies, and field trip transportation and expenses. Scholarships are available, information below.

Application Process

  • Students currently in their junior and senior year of high school are eligible to apply.
  • Online Application, official transcripts, ACT scores, and one letter of recommendation must be emailed or postmarked no later than Friday, May 1, 2020.
  • The letter of recommendation must be from a science teacher, math teacher or a counselor.
  • Reference letter, ACT Scores, and transcripts can be emailed to COPAdmissions@uams.edu or mailed to UAMS Pharmacy Camp, 4301 West Markham Slot 522, Little Rock, AR 72205.

Camp applicants will be notified on Monday, May 8, 2020 of their admission status. Accepted applicants must pay the full cost of tuition ($400) and supply proof of health insurance coverage to the UAMS College of Pharmacy by Friday, May 29, 2020. The UAMS College of Pharmacy reserves the right to cancel the pharmacy camp and return all fees in the event of insufficient participant registration or for other compelling and unforeseen circumstances of good cause.

Multiple scholarships are available to those requiring tuition assistance! Students must submit a statement explaining why tuition assistance is being requested with his/her application.
