The Evidence-based Prescription Drug program (EBRx) is a service unit within the UAMS College of Pharmacy. Established in 2004, it initially developed the preferred drug list for Arkansas Medicaid. Over the years, EBRx expanded its services beyond formulary management to serve self-funded insurance plans. Our team offers oversight of the prescription drug program, which includes prior authorization criteria, appeals management for both the pharmacy benefit and for medically administered medications, rebate management through contracting and auditing, and day-to-day support for many of its partners. Our goal is to fight the rising costs of healthcare with an evidence based approach to ensure coverage of only the highest value and effective treatments.
