Background
The UAMS Northwest Regional Campus is an extension of UAMS’s medical education, research, and clinical mission in Northwest Arkansas. The regional campus was established in 2007 to help meet the state’s growing need for healthcare workers to serve the people of Arkansas. The colleges of pharmacy, nursing, medicine, and health professions have sites at both the Little Rock and Northwest campuses.
The COP is united by the shared objectives between the Little Rock and Northwest Regional Campuses. Faculty work together to ensure full collaboration between the two campuses, including teaching, research, and service. The COP is committed to maintaining excellent communication across the two campuses and providing all students with excellent pharmacy education that UAMS College of Pharmacy is known for.
Residency experiences include internal medicine, family medicine, anticoagulation, and telehealth clinics, as well as the UAMS North Street Clinic, an inter-professional, student-led, free clinic. The resident will assist in managing various disease states under collaborative practice agreements and be exposed to a variety of practice types. Opportunities in specialty practices on the UAMS or VA campus are available for elective experiences. Additionally, the resident will complete the UAMS College of Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program and be involved in the education of Pharm.D. students, medical students, and resident physicians.
