Research & Scholarly Interest

My research focuses on elucidating the molecular, cellular, and physiological mechanisms that drive acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and their associated cardiovascular and metabolic complications. By integrating renal physiology, pharmacology, immunology, and vascular biology, I investigate how renal hypoxia, inflammation, fibrosis, immune dysregulation, and aging contribute to disease progression. A central goal of my research program is to identify novel therapeutic targets and develop innovative treatments, including epoxyeicosatrienoic acid (EET)-based therapeutics, soluble epoxide hydrolase inhibitors, hydrogen sulfide–targeted interventions, and other multi-target pharmacological strategies. Through interdisciplinary and translational research, I seek to advance fundamental understanding of kidney disease while accelerating the development of therapies that improve renal and cardiovascular health outcomes.
