Our Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Community Pharmacy Residency in Northwest Arkansas offers a robust and immersive experience designed to prepare pharmacists for diverse career paths in clinical practice, management, education, and research.
Residents train at two high-volume Walmart pharmacy locations—Store #100 in Bentonville and Store #5260 in Rogers—serving a broad patient population, including many Walmart associates.
These sites offer a wide range of services, including:
- Prescription dispensing
- Immunizations
- Health screenings
- Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
- OTC counseling
- Point-of-care testing and treatment
- Hormonal contraceptive prescribing
- Transitions of care services

Diverse Learning Experiences Residents engage in five longitudinal learning experiences:
- Patient-Centered Dispensing: Develop advanced dispensing and workflow management skills while staffing 10 hours per week.
- Patient Care Services: Deliver direct patient care through clinical services and off-site clinics, dedicating 16–20 hours per week.
- Teaching & Facilitation: Complete the UAMS Teaching Certificate Program and gain experience in academic instruction and mentorship.
- Pharmacy-Based Projects: Lead innovative service and research projects aligned with Walmart’s strategic goals, supported by the UAMS Research Certificate Program.
- Clinical Practice Management: Collaborate with corporate teams to assess, enhance, and implement clinical programs across the Walmart network.

Nealee Weldon, Pharm.D.

Nealee Weldon is originally from Tifton, Georgia, and has been passionate about pharmacy since she began working in a Walmart Pharmacy in June 2019. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Sociology from Georgia Southern University in May 2022, then went on to complete her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at South University School of Pharmacy in June 2025. Shortly after graduation, Nealee relocated to Arkansas to begin her Walmart Community Pharmacy Residency through the UAMS College of Pharmacy, where she looks forward to expanding her clinical knowledge while continuing to provide meaningful care in a community setting. In her free time, she enjoys running, listening to audiobooks, and attending live concerts whenever possible.
Gaurav Ohol, Pharm.D.

Gaurav is a graduating with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is also completing a Master’s in Business Administration and a graduate certificate in Business Analytics from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
He is passionate about clinical services, expanding the scope of what pharmacists can accomplish and exploring innovative, profitable ideas within the pharmacy profession. His long-term goal is to grow into a leadership position—such as pharmacy manager or market director—where he can help shape the future of pharmacy operations, drive performance, and improve healthcare outcomes on a larger scale.
An interesting fact about Gaurav, he has lived in five different countries throughout his life – India, Canada, United Kingdom, Nepal, and now the United States. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys playing in chess tournaments across the country, baking, and hiking.
